In short
To start with a funded account, read the platform's rules and numbers first, practise without paying where you can, then buy a modest tier. Next, set your stake from the loss limits, log every bet and never buy a new challenge straight after a failure. This guide walks through each step using the real rules of four verified platforms, and reminds you that a challenge costs money and can be lost.
Step 1: understand the six rules that decide everything
A funded account works like an exam. You pay a fee, you have to reach a profit target without breaching certain loss limits, and then you move on to a funded account. At WeBet and WagerFunding, the rules state that the environment is simulated: no real bets are placed. What you put at risk first is the challenge fee. Before paying, you should be able to explain these six rules without rereading the page.
- Profit target
- The gain to reach, as a percentage of capital. It ranges from +20% per phase at LetMeBet and WagerFunding to +35% in a single phase at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded.
- Daily drawdown
- The maximum loss allowed in one day. It is 10% on all four platforms, but the calculation differs. At WeBet, it resets every day at 08:00 UTC. At LetMeBet, it is measured against the capital at the start of the day.
- Overall drawdown
- The total loss you must never exceed: 20% at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded, 15% at LetMeBet, 10% in phase 1 at WagerFunding. At LetMeBet, this threshold is fixed and never moves up with your gains.
- Minimum number of bets
- The volume you must place on top of the target: 25 bets at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded, 25 settled bets per phase at LetMeBet, 20 bets per phase at WagerFunding in the two-phase format.
- Minimum and maximum stake
- A range expressed as a percentage of capital: 2 to 5% at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded, 1 to 5% at WagerFunding, 1 to 10% of the current bankroll at LetMeBet.
- Duration
- 30 days in one phase at WeBet, 30 days maximum per phase at LetMeBet, no time limit at PrimeSportsFunded and WagerFunding. WagerFunding does, however, close the account after 15 days without a bet during the evaluation.
On top of these come consistency rules that beginners tend to skim. At PrimeSportsFunded, the minimum odds are 1.50 and only one bet is allowed per market and per match. At WeBet, no single bet may account for more than 35% of the total profit for the period. PrimeSportsFunded and WagerFunding also cap simultaneous exposure. To see how the two loss limits interact, read our guide to understanding drawdown.
Same capital, very different constraints
On paper, a 5,000 account looks the same everywhere. In practice, the target, the loss margin and the pace required vary a great deal. Here is the 5,000 tier across the four verified platforms in our funded account rankings. Amounts in brackets are calculated from the published percentages.
Three takeaways for a beginner. First, the margin. At WagerFunding in phase 1, the overall loss allowed equals the daily loss: a single bad day can end the evaluation. At LetMeBet, the 15% threshold stays fixed even after a good run.
Second, time. With no limit at PrimeSportsFunded and WagerFunding, you are not forced into bets just to keep to a schedule. With 30 days at WeBet, you need to place 25 bets and aim for +35% over the period. At LetMeBet, the total effort rises to +40% combined, 50 settled bets and up to 60 days.
Finally, currency. At PrimeSportsFunded, fees are paid in euros but the capital is denominated in dollars: a $10,000 account is worth less than a €10,000 account. WagerFunding charges and credits in dollars.

The step-by-step path, from reading the rules to your first bet
Once you understand the rules, follow this order. Each step avoids a mistake that costs a challenge.
- 1
Read the official rules in full
Go through the rules page of the platform you have chosen, including prohibited practices (arbitrage, surebetting, bots depending on the platform) and withdrawal conditions. Write the six key figures on a sheet you keep in front of you.
- 2
Practise without paying
WeBet and LetMeBet offer a demo account. PrimeSportsFunded and WagerFunding do not. Our page on prop firms with a demo account covers this. Either way, the challenge simulator lets you test a scenario before paying.
- 3
Choose a modest tier
Your first challenge is for learning the rules in real conditions. A small tier limits the fees at stake: €97 at LetMeBet, €99 at WeBet, €109 at PrimeSportsFunded for 5,000 of capital. WagerFunding offers a $1,000 account for $39, mainly useful for getting to know how it works.
- 4
Size your stake
Set a reference stake within the allowed range, calculated from your loss limits rather than from the target. The details are in the next section.
- 5
Keep a log from your first bet
Record every bet with its stake, odds, result and the margin left before the limits. Without a log, there is no way to know why a challenge failed.
- 6
Review regularly
At fixed intervals, compare your balance with your two loss limits and with the number of bets still to place. If a limit is getting close, cut your stake towards the minimum allowed rather than speeding up.
Before buying, check current discounts on our promo codes page. The BET2PRONOS code at WeBet gives 10% off the €5,000 tier, then 15% on €10,000 up to 30% on €100,000. At PrimeSportsFunded, the SPORTSBETTING25 code gives 25% off every tier. At WagerFunding, the FIRSTTIMER code shown on the official site gives 55% off the first account (checked on 14 September 2026). A discount should never push you towards a higher tier than planned.
Size your stake and keep your log
The classic beginner's mistake is working out the stake from the target. Do the opposite: start from what you can lose before being eliminated.
Take WeBet on €5,000. The stake ranges from €100 to €250. The maximum daily loss of €500 equals five minimum stakes lost, or just two maximum stakes. The overall loss of €1,000 equals ten minimum stakes, or four maximum stakes. Betting at the ceiling therefore leaves very little room for error.
At LetMeBet, it is tighter: with a 3% stake, five losses in a row are enough to approach the 15% overall limit. The stake range depends on the current bankroll and stays capped by the remaining margin, so it narrows as your balance falls.
Also keep the opposite constraint in mind. At WeBet, aiming for +35% in 30 days with an average stake of 3% and at least 25 bets requires a high and consistent return. And the rule capping any single bet at 35% of profit prevents passing on one big win. The stake calculator does these sums for your tier and keeps your log in the same place.
What your log should contain, bet by bet:
- the date and the competition
- the market and the odds taken
- the stake, as an amount and as a percentage of capital
- the result and the balance after settlement
- the margin left before the daily loss and the overall loss
- a one-line comment: why this bet, and was the rule respected?
After a failure: do not buy again on impulse
Failing is part of the process, and you need to accept that before buying. At LetMeBet, as at PrimeSportsFunded, a failure means buying a new evaluation. Each attempt is independent and the fees paid are lost. The real danger is buying again straight away to win it back.
- Sleep on it at least one night before any purchase decision.
- Reread your log and identify the rule that ended the challenge: daily loss, overall loss, deadline or number of bets.
- Replay the scenario in the simulator with a lower stake.
- If the deadline was the problem, look at formats with no time limit. If it was the margin, compare the loss limits.
- Set a total budget for challenges in advance, and stop when you reach it.

Key takeaways
- Master six rules before paying: target, daily loss, overall loss, number of bets, stake range and duration.
- At equal capital, constraints differ: from +35% in 30 days at WeBet to two phases of +20% with no time limit at WagerFunding, with an overall loss limit of 10 to 20% depending on the platform.
- Practise without paying where possible, then start with a modest tier.
- Work out your stake from your loss limits and log every bet.
- After a failure, analyse before buying again. Fees are lost and the risk of loss is real on every attempt.
Frequently asked questions
Which prop firm should a beginner choose?
None is ideal for everyone. Compare duration, loss margin and whether there is a demo account first. WeBet offers a free demo account and a single 30-day phase. PrimeSportsFunded and WagerFunding have no time limit. LetMeBet requires two phases of +20% with a fixed 15% overall loss limit. Choose the format whose rules you can respect in full.
How much does a first funded account cost?
On the 5,000 tier, prices range from €97 at LetMeBet to €99 at WeBet and €109 at PrimeSportsFunded. WagerFunding charges $149 for $5,000 in two phases and also offers a $1,000 account for $39. These fees are lost if you fail. The BET2PRONOS code brings WeBet's €5,000 tier down to €89 (−10%).
Can I practise for free before buying a challenge?
Yes at WeBet, which offers a free demo account to get used to the rules. PrimeSportsFunded does not: you have to buy a challenge to see the interface, although its public Discord gives a glimpse. LetMeBet also offers a demo account, WagerFunding does not. A challenge simulator also lets you test a staking scenario without paying.
What happens if I breach the drawdown?
The challenge ends. At WeBet, going past the 10% daily loss or the 20% overall loss ends the programme. At LetMeBet, the 15% overall limit is calculated on the starting bankroll and does not move up with gains. To start again you have to buy a new evaluation: each attempt is independent and the fees paid are lost.
How many bets do I need to place during a challenge?
A minimum set by the platform, on top of the profit target. It is 25 bets at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded, 25 settled bets per phase at LetMeBet and 20 bets per phase at WagerFunding in the two-phase format. LetMeBet also requires settled bets on 7 different days in phase 1 and 4 days in phase 2.
What stake should I use for a first challenge?
Each platform sets a range: 2 to 5% of capital at WeBet and PrimeSportsFunded, 1 to 5% at WagerFunding, 1 to 10% of the current bankroll at LetMeBet. Before settling on an amount, check how many losses in a row your daily and overall limits can absorb. Betting at the ceiling sharply reduces your margin for error.
